North Mundham Parish Council are looking for a new parish councillor
CO-OPTION OF A MEMBER TO NORTH MUNDHAM PARISH COUNCIL
A notice of vacancy offering a by-election was posted on the parish council notice boards on 8th May 2024. There being no call for an election within the specified time, the returning officer has instructed the Parish Council to fill the vacancy by co-option.
It is hoped to fill the vacancy at the next meeting of the parish council on 2nd July 2024.
Applications are invited from electors who are commonwealth citizens, including British subjects, over the age of 18. Candidates must have resided or worked in the parish, or within three miles of its boundaries for twelve months.
You are disqualified from apply to be a councillor if any of the following apply:
If you are subject to a bankruptcy restriction order or an interim order or debt relief restrictions order or interim order creates disqualification which dates from the judgment or execution and generally ends one year after the order is made.
If within five years before co-option have been convicted of any offence in the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man of any offence and has been sentenced to not less than three months’ imprisonment (whether suspended or not) without the option of the tine.
