Parish Meeting Minutes – 6th July 2010
In January 2010, Sam Irving, Rural Housing Enabler, Chichester District Council attended North Mundham Parish Council meeting and advised the Parish Council of the need for affordable housing in the parish. Consequently the Parish Council invited all residents in the parish to a meeting held on 6th July 2010 to advise the residents of the need and to obtain their views on the need for affordable housing in the parish.
Following the meeting in July 2010 residents of the parish were invited to join a working party to work with representatives from Chichester District Council, Hyde Martlett and the Parish Council towards the provision of affordable housing. Three residents came forward Julia Holt (who later joined the parish council), Claire Dalgliesh and Ian Sedgley the parish council is very grateful for their assistance and views which have progressed this project so successfully.
To ensure residents views were obtained at each stage the working group has held two exhibitions. The first in May 2011 which sought residents views on the best site for affordable housing and the second in May 2012 which was to present the preliminary designs for the site known as land south of B2216 which was the second choice of residents at the location exhibition. Both exhibitions were well attended and were very positive events which have ensured that the planning application which is to be submitted to Chichester District Council by Hyde Martlett has not come as a surprise.
Once the properties are nearing completion an event will be held when those people who have registered on house register and are interested in a property on the site will be required to provide evidence of their local connection to the Parish of North Mundham to entitle them to be considered for a property on the site.
