RIVER LAVANT FLOOD ALLEVIATION SCHEME
I have just been notified that the River Lavant Flood Alleviation Scheme was switched on this afternoon. PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL OR CONTACT ANYONE WHO might be affected by this event to take precautions against flood.
Local Parish Councils and local farmers are lobbying the Environment Agency to ensure that pumps arrive at the earliest opportunity to ensure that the water is discharged over the sea wall as quickly as possible to in the hope that this will prevent flooding in the area. There is useful information on the parish council website http://northmundham.org/news/flood-guidelines/
If water is coming into your property phone 999 and request assistance from the Fire Brigade.
